The BikeReg.com / Cannondale Elite Team returns for the 2013 season with a roster of talented and motivated athletes, ready to tackle a full calendar of races around the US.

The BikeReg.com / Cannondale Elite Cycling Team traces its roots back to the 90’s and through that time, has remained a stalwart of the New England and national racing scene. BikeReg.com is proud to enter its 5^th year as title sponsor of this prestigious team. Under various title sponsors, the team has stood the test of time, and remains one of the most successful elite amateur teams in the country. The team consistently develops younger riders and helps them make the jump to the pro ranks; the list of alumni boasts some of the top names in professional road and cyclo-cross racing.

Newcomers to the squad include young guns Ricky Gargiulo and Juan Carmona, and climbing talent Erik Levinsohn. Jerome Townsend is welcomed back to the roster after two successful seasons on the US criterium scene. Returning riders include Zack Noonan, poised for a break-through year in the hardest races, and Josh Lipka, a dominant and well-rounded mainstay of the team. John Minturn is back for his second year with the program, and is looking to build on his successful 2012 season in TTs and hilly road races. Leading the team will be the poised and determined Peter Hurst, who posted wins and top results at the regional and national level in 2012.

Supporting the team’s endeavors in 2013 are BikeReg.com, the nation’s premier event registration service, and Cannondale Bicycles. Champion Systems has been with the team for years, and continues to ensure that our racers look good and are comfortable throughout the season. The team also continues a long tradition of support with partners Rudy Project, Clif Bar, and Joe’s Garage, provider of race-proven mechanical support and the team’s indoor training center. Thomson returns to outfit our Cannondale frames with elegant and strong seat posts and stems.

Additional support comes from TRP, providing light and reliable braking power, and Michelin Tires, keeping the squad rolling smoothly and fast in racing and training. We’re honored this year to start a new partnership with ProGold Lubricants, who will be keeping the team’s bikes and drivetrains clean, shiny, and lubed all year.

That was a crazy day of training. We got out to Roanoke and it started to snow. After crushing some hot chocolate we had to haul ass back to Blacksburg, and spent the last 30 min riding in a full on snow storm.

I went up to Massachusetts last weekend for a mini team camp. I got to mee the guys and we did some snowshoeing since the weather wasn’t great for riding. We also went over our schedule, and it looks like were only doing stage races, and road races which I am really looking forward to.

The team looks really strong for 2013. It’s a great group of guys, and I can’t wait to get racing.
